Lainey Dempsey

Lainey is a singer and songwriter from Glasgow .  

She has a long held interest in unaccompanied traditional singing and over the past few years has been invited to sing across Ireland, Scotland and the rest of the UK.

Her first album 'Letle Telt' was self-released in May 2023  and is in the most part a collection of stories.  Many historical, some mythical, almost all have a strong female voice either in the writing or the telling.  Many of the songs were recorded around a campfire in the Highlands of Scotland.  Half were found in antique song books and are rarely sung today if at all.  The other half are new compositions and have been inspired by tales from Scottish history and lore.
